Are you more of a sprinter or a marathon runner in your daily energy and way of doing things? Do you follow your strengths or do you work against your natural way of being?
I’m a sprinter, not a marathon runner. It’s important to identify which one you are and then tailor your activities accordingly. You will be much more in harmony, if you do so.
A lot of the things I need to do in my life require me to be like a marathon runner. For example, it’s important that I’m able to take small consistent actions consistently over a long period of time. My natural way of being or style is more short, intense, and succinct.
So the way I set up my day to be in accordance with my natural style is I divide it into small bites of time. By doing this, I am fully engaged in what I’m doing and then when needed, I am able to move onto something else that will inspire me, motivate me and allow me to create my best in that specific area. These small little bursts of energy over time have helped me to write a book, create an 8-week online course and to coach thousands of people.
This week, look at how your style or your natural way of being is integrated in your life and notice where in your life you are working against yourself or your natural rhythm. Then very simply, make adjustments, where necessary. For example, break up the 200 page book you want to write into segments or ideas and then write an idea/day. Before you know it, you will have a completed manuscript in your hand. Try this approach with any big or small idea you have!
