“Powerfully move through your Roadblocks” – an excerpt from “Ignite Yourself”
Just picture an open road out in front of you where there is no residue from the past and nothing stands in your way. Picture an open road of creation where the past is left in the past. With this open terrain you can begin to create whatever you want to create. Now imagine that the same terrain is in front of you with rocks splayed all over the place and boulders sohigh you can’t see over them. There are stop signs alerting you to not travel any further and construction cones blocking your way. All these things from the past are on the road to your future creating clutter in your internal world- fogging up your mind and creating emotional drama and chaos that must be dealt with step by step. As you can see, it will take you much longer to get where you want to go than if you had a beautiful clear open pathway. This clear open pathway is what you can have if you are willing to proactively look at what from the past needs to be healed and do the work to heal it. This is the path of least resistance to creating something new in your life. This path will allow you the open space of freedom, creativity and endless possibilities. Instead of getting stopped at every roadblock and losing the rhythm of your stride, you will be able to smoothly glide on through to the destination you desire. By doing this work and taking this path, you will have given yourself the gift of being able to put all your attention and focus on what you want to create instead of sifting through the blocks from your past that will stop you at every turn.
Here is a 4 step process that will help you to move through your roadblocks and obstacles and create a beautiful clear open pathway so that you can create what you desire!
1) OBSERVE WHAT’S HAPPENING- what is the situation that you are experiencing- write it out like a story
2) Notice what feelings are present- notice how this experience feels to you
3) Give the feelings a ‘voice’ (Use ‘The Voices of your Emotions’ list below to identify the voice of your feelings. Notice if this is a feeling you have experienced in the past.
4) Allow yourself to feel the feeling and notice where it is in your body. Honor these feelings until they “let go” of you or diminish in some way. If needed, express the emotion in some physical way. For example, take a walk, journal or express the emotion in a yoga or kickboxing class. Find a healthy physical outlet for your emotion.
Once you have completed the 4-step process, take action! Take one action that is aligned with your plan for today.
